How can I change the CCSID of my EXWORK jobs so I don't get MCH4430 errors on my EXWORK jobs?

Product: WebSmart ILE Type: Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble with your Exodus jobs and the EXWORK jobs are getting MCH4430 not monitored by QQQUDFAC, there is a good chance that your system CCSID is 65535 and that your QCHRID system value is not 37.

One way to resolve this is to have your Exodus jobs run under your QCHRID system value.   You can change the job manually using an option 5, 40 from the WRKACTJOB screen.  If that works, then you can do this on a more permanent bases by changing the CCSID parameter of the EXODUS55 user profile to your system QCHRID value.

To find the QCHRID value:
DSPSYSVAL QCHRID
-the value needed is the Code Page

To change the EXODUS55 profile:
WRKUSRPRF EXODUS55
-Option 2 to change
-F10 for more parms
-page down 3 times until you see: Coded character set ID
-change it to match the QCHRID Code Page value

Once the EXODUS55 profile is changed the next EXWORK job that starts should work correctly.
