Can I start multiple Newlook Server Thinclient sessions within one browser?

By default Microsoft IIS that hosts the Newlook Server application is configured to keep track of a session state using a temporary cookie and all sessions on a user's machine that run from the same Web Browser will share that cookie. This means that irrespective of how many TABs you have open within that browser window, all of those tabs will share that same temporary cookie and behave as a single session.

If you want to have multiple sessions enabled, this can be done by turning off the use of cookies which is set within the web.config file under the Newlook Server folder.

You can open web.config file in Notepad (Run as Administrator) and do a search for cookieless and set it to cookieless="True".
Setting cookieless to true will result in each browser TAB launching a new session where those sessions are then tracked by a unique identifier within the session URL.

You would need to perform IISRESET or Recycle the app pool after updating web.config file for the change to come into effect.

Note : One of the benfits of a shared cookie is to minimize the amount of Newlook Server client licenses being used. By disabling cookies each new browser session connecting to Newlook Server will consume an additional client license which will be maintained until the session times out. The default time out is 20 minutes.
