CPD0170 on DB#015C when submitting any job to create a file.

Product: DbGen Type: Frequently Asked Question

The symptom is that any time you submit a DbGen job to run, it errors out with not finding DB#015C, which is one of the very basic DbGen file creation programs, and exists in DB#LIB.
The probably cause is that on the SBMJOB command, on the Initial Library List parm (INLLIBL), you have a value of *JOBD, rather than *CURRENT.

This means that it's not picking up the library for the current session when it submits the job, it's using your initial library list from when you sign on. The easy solution is to change the command defaults on the SBMJOB command.

However, if that's not possible (or you're not sure what the impact of that would be on other things, and don't want to make the change), you can also change the initial library list in the DB#JOBD job description, using the CHGJOBD command.

In there you'll see that the default library list on this job description is *SYSVAL. Instead of that, you'll need to enter an actual library list. This should include all your application libraries that you would be creating DbGen files for, as well as DB#LIB.
