How to use Free format code within ProGen Plus

Product: ProGen Plus Type: Frequently Asked Question

If you want to use free format RPG code within ProGen Plus, you can use either of the following methods:

  1. Use USRSRC actions within the actions editor. The code must be started and ended with the compiler tags of /free and /end-free. The user source defaults to have a C in position 8. The C must be removed and the /free must start in position 9. There is no validation for the code, but a sample is shown below:
          1.00  USRSRC       /free
         2.00  USRSRC        if (MCO# = 1);
          3.00  USRSRC        MCO# = 2;
         4.00   USRSRC        endif;
          5.00  USRSRC       /end-free
  2. Use the USRCOD action within the actions editor. This action will create a source member that will be copied into the ProGen Source. Once again there is no validation, and you need to start with a /free and end with a /end-free compiler statement.
